What-cha been up to?

Its been a long while since I have updated this blog. After looking back at my previous posts I can see that this is something that is becoming a trend for me ;-). What can I say, life is busy and lately, I am enjoying the ride. Since we last visited together, I graduated with an Associates in Human Resources, we got a new kitten, I got a new job, we moved and I started working on my Bachelors in HR. A lot of major life changes. They are all good things though, because by achieving these goals I am a few steps closer to realizing the ultimate goal of owning a bed and breakfast with my sister Sandi. This dream is a few years off still, but we are working towards planting the seeds to make this dream grow into a reality. I will elaborate on this plan more in the future, but rest assured the business plan for this dream is beginning to come together and we are anticipating the start of our new adventure.

I snapped a few photos of our new place. Would you like a little tour? I am liking it so much better than apartment living that is for sure! I  certainly do not miss the family of elephants that lived next door and I must say, that even though we only moved 15 minutes away from where we were, I am digging the fact its a little closer to work. It means that I spend 2 hours less in the car each week, and that makes me a happy camper!

The fireplace is one of my favorite features of the new place. I cant wait to have our first fire in it. I missed having a fireplace. We had one when we lived in Belleville and I just loved it. Now I have a proper place to hang the Christmas stockings again.

Tied with the fireplace for a close second, is the master bathtub. It feels so good  to come home after a long hard day of work & school and soak in a nice hot tubby. Helps keep a busy girl balanced that's for sure.

There is a skylight above the tub. I love the natural light it lets in and I love to see the stars in the night sky when I am in the tubby. Sigh......its the little things :-)

There are two more skylights in the kitchen. The abundance of natural light in this room is awesome! The kitchen window has ample space for a mini window herb garden too.

Leopold made the move just fine. He is happy to have
a new home on the baking counter. Mr. managed to make it into the shot too. Good man taking out the garbage :-)  I <3 him!

I got flowers from my boss at work. Everyone in the HR department  received them in recognition for all of our hard-work during the back to school season. I really have to say I am loving my job. I am learning so much, and the ladies I work with are great. I am so blessed to have a job I enjoy going to. I really feel like all of the hard-work and effort I put into getting my degree is finally starting to pay off. It makes me feel better when I get my student loan statement in the mail. Man is that scary mail, I have never owed so much money in my life! This is one of the main  reasons behind our recent move. The new place allows us to save some money so I can pay down my student loans. Deciding to go back for the bachelors is the right decision but its costly. I don't want to graduate owing enough money to buy a small country. It is not particularly conducive to the bed and breakfast plan.

The cats have survived the move as well. Tutie likes the new place. The patio door offers a nice view and a cool breeze. His favorite, outside of food of course.

This is our little Nemo. We got him in July when he was 2 months old. He makes a perfect companion for Tyler. Nemo is deaf so he can not hear when Tyler is being loud and obnoxious.  He loves to cuddle with Tyler and Tyler loves his little Nem-a-roo!

Since we can not be all work and no play, we have managed to squeeze in some quality family time at the local cider mill. Tyler is enjoying some cider and doughnuts. We picked pumpkins and had a nice afternoon.

My boys are always cheesing for the camera! Well that's all I got for now. Hopefully you are all out enjoying fall as well.

As always,
